(IIMSAM Headquarters, New York 28 July 2010) The Inter-governmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina Against Malnutrition (“IIMSAM”) Interim Delegation met with H.E. Saeed Al Masri Minister of Agriculture on behalf of IIMSAM`s Secretary General H.E. Remigio Maradona to finilise the protocol modalities of the IIMSAM Summit schedule to take place on Tuesday 2nd of August 2010. Progress was made on the Frame works of an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between IIMSAM and the Ministry of Agriculture, The Hashemite Charity Organisation and the signing of our Convention Agreement. The Director General Stated: I am very proud of our young interim delegation lead by our Sr. Adviser on programming and Institutional Development Ms. Emma Hallberg, and the outstanding groundwork of our Special Sr. Adviser of the Office of the Director General Mr. Samir Al Neel, as well as our young Jr. Advisers Ms. Erin Moore and Seynep Öz.

AMMAN, JORDAN 3 AUGUST 2010: Actors, singers, athletes, activist and other celebrities are joining the push for action in support of the IIMSAM Mandate to combat severe malnutrition, hunger and disease, through the use of Spirulina which was declared by the United Nations World Food Conference of 1974 as the best food for the future- IIMSAM Announced today. With only five years left until the 2015 target date for achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) - the eight anti-poverty goals world leaders agreed to at the Millennium Summit in 2000 - IIMSAM is leading a collective effort to accelerate progress towards the goals and in particular goal#1 Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger.

On 30 July thru 2nd of August the second annual IIMSAM Summit in Amman, Jordan under the patronage of H.R.H. Princess Basma Bint Talal, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Hashemite Charity Organisation brought together, Government officials, leaders, celebrities, private sector, foundations and civil society, to commit to the IIMSAM Mandate in support of action agenda to achieve the MDGs.
