Ms. Alito represents management with regard to employment law and employee benefit law issues. She defends employers in litigation including employment discrimination, wage and hour, whistle blowing, harassment and employee benefit plan terminations. She provides counsel on workplace issues, policies and compliance.
Ms. Alito is an experienced litigator in trials and appeals in both state and federal courts. In 1999, the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey honored Ms. Alito with its Trial Bar Award for outstanding performance as a trial lawyer. She has served as lead counsel in the successful defense of class actions under ERISA and the LMRA involving multiple employer welfare and pension trust funds, and trials of class actions challenging termination of retiree medical benefits. Her litigation experience in discrimination and wage and hour matters ranges from single-plaintiff cases to class actions and EEOC actions challenging company-wide and nation-wide policies.
Ms. Alito has been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America.

Ms. Alito is the author of the treatise, New Jersey Employment Law, first published in 1992, updated annually, and cited with approval by the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division.She wrote Employment Law for New Jersey Businesses, published by the New Jersey Law Journal and the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce (2001). Her article regarding disparate impact discrimination under the 1991 Civil Rights Act has been cited with approval by United States Circuit Courts of Appeal.
PRESENTATIONS
A frequent writer and lecturer on issues of employment law, Ms. Alito has taught employment law at the New Jersey Judicial College and spoken at the United States District Court Conference, the Third Circuit Conference, the Attorney General’s Advocacy Institute and numerous continuing legal education seminars.
