The Sheikha’s Introductory Statement:
I am grateful to the Secretary General Maradona for giving me the opportunity to assist in the implementation of IIMSAM’s Mandate in the fight against malnutrition and to maximised my efforts in realising this noble mandate of IIMSAM by utilising my “business know how” and “best practices” in order to have concrete results”. Let me begin by paying tribute to the important role I have been assigned. I know how personally committed I will be in the task ahead. I will work with the same passion as our Secretary General who has performed a miracle of what he has been able to accomplished in a short period of time despite chronic underfunding internal and external challenges of the organisation that has stifled at times the institutional development of IIMSAM.
My work within the IIMSAM Secretariat will re-enforce the outstanding work done by the Secretary-General Maradona. I will work with him to realised the potentialities of IIMSAM in fighting malnutrition worldwide by distributing Spirulina to as many peoples as we can in order to create an impact that will be notice by the international community which will
pave the way in the mainstreaming the use of Spirulina in saving lives. As our Secretary General points out we must create real opportunities for the distribution of Spirulina in emergency relief efforts, sustainable pilot-projects as we have done in Kisumu, Kenya at the IIMSAM Sheikh Zayed Spirulina Distribution Centre where thousands of Spirulina dosages have been distributed to the malnourished and those suffering from related illnesses since 2009.
I look forward in working together with Secretary General Maradona during my tenure with IIMSAM as we prepare to forge ahead with our Mandate against the world’s number one killer, malnutrition and in doing so helping those who cannot help themselves to live a life with dignity and free from stunting due to malnutrition.
