The appointment of a prominent New Zealand businessman ( Mikdad Yahya) Deputy Secretary General of the Intergovernmental Institution for the Use of Micro-algae Spirulina against Malnutrition(IIMSAM) by the Secretary General Mr. Remigio Maradona.

Secretary General Maradona said: "It is an honour to appoint and promote Mikdad Yahya, who was holding the position of Ambassador at large in our organization as Deputy Secretary-General (DSG), as part of the restructuring of the Secretariat of the Organization. The Secretary General added, that Mr. Mikdad Yahya will be assisting in the Institutional Development of IIMSAM in the GCC and MENA Region. Mr. Mikdad will also be designating under the discretion of the Secretary General prospective Goodwill Ambassadors, and other stakeholders and general staff where deems appropriate...As a successful businessman with extensive experience and "know how" he will play a pivotal role in the development of IIMSAM in particular IIMSAM's field operations in the distribution of Spirulina in areas that rife with disease, poverty and acute malnutrition."

The DSG-Mikdad Yahya expressed his gratitude for being promoted to the new possition and pledged to the Organization and the Secretary General Maradona that he will exercise his best efforts to achieve the noble targets of IIMSAM with actual and concrete results that will be noticeable in the near future. In addition he and his team will contribute administrative experience in providing meaningful guidance and advise to the Executive Office of the Secretary-General for implementation in respect to the management of the day to day operations of the Secretariat and the institutional development of the organization at various levels of activities and humanitarian programmes.

Born in 1968, at a young age he was engaged in the trade of clothing and textile of his family business. His idol is his father, who we hear him referring to him: (My father was my teacher and inspiration and I learned from him how to run the business and dealing with all kinds of work).

Mr. Mikdad Yahya worked in the field of international trade, import and export, various kinds of goods in several countries in the world. He is a self-made confident businessman well paced and reputable. He is head of many companies around the world, including real estates and tourism. He contributes effectively to various charities and humanitarian organizations as well an active member of these organizations.

Mr. Mikdad Yahya appointment as (DSG) Deputy Secretary-General of the IIMSAM is a valuable asset to the organization's Mandate in helping children's who suffer from malnutrition and people with special needs around the world.

Mr. Mikdad Yahya is a father of seven children, his eldest son, is an Airline Captain who graduated from the Academy of Aviation in New Zealand.
