Mr. Jonathan Kobrin, Youth Goodwill Ambassador, joins the organization as part of the implementation of the Resolution No. 60/2 adopted by the UN General Assembly on policies and programmes involving youth by the IIMSAM. He would focus his branding skill-set on resource generation outreach and for the awareness development on behalf of IIMSAM. Mr. Kobrin’s experience in the lifestyle/entertainment industry and association with SFX Delsner Slater, MTV and later George Trescher led Mr. Kobrin to launch Fine Urban Rituals LLC, a strategic event production firm focused on luxury products and philanthropic causes in the year 2004. His training and passion for live event production and music led him to establish Snitch, New York's top-rated rock & roll club, which has hosted performances by musical icons such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Guns N' Roses and Lenny Kravitz among others. In 2006, he partnered with Matthew Kramer of Project MKULTRA LLC to form Kramer/Kobrin Inc., a brand development and event production firm offering a full suite of lifestyle, technology, and branding solutions. KK boasts specific excellence in the creation of unique branded content solutions distinguishable for its degree of user impact and interactivity He states, "I will give my all to forward the IIMSAM initiatives as much as I can. The World is plagued by horrific amounts of childhood deaths related to the lack of proper food products or even any food products sometimes; in territories across the globe. The chance to fight for these children, to save as many children's lives as I can, is a huge honour that I will not undervalue; and diligently strive for a better world.” |

inspire activities focussed on the youth in the African
region where he lives and work with the youth organizations. Since October 2005 he is
with the United Nations Environment Programme’s

issues. He also advises the UNEP to better its
strategies and methods for the active engagement
and involvement of young people to consolidate
its mandate. He specially focuses on increasing
the youth participation by advocating for the cause
of UNEP and its activities with various youth groups,
clubs, and association. Abdoul is an under graduate

in the field of computer sciences.  He would
be enrolling for the online courses offered by

His association with the Civil Society has provided
him with a learning and experience with the stakeholders
in development and humanitarian agenda including

organizations among others. Abdoul sincerely feels that the time is ripe so
that he could share his learning and experiences
in order to serve the community as an IIMSAM Youth
Delegate from Rwanda in Africa. He strongly feels
that his endeavours will increase the partnership
between IIMSAM and other International organizations
for an all inclusive sustainable development in his
                            continent. Abdoul states “The
problem of malnutrition severely affects the developing
countries including my own country Rwanda. As an
IIMSAM Youth Delegate from Africa, I look forward
to promote the use of micro-algae Spirulina against
malnutrition by helping IIMSAM forge alliance with
other stakeholders, both local and others in the
region that strive for sustainable development
                              in

                            Africa.
I am confident that as a Youth Delegate of the organization,
I would be able to catalyze the immense potential
of the young people of Rwanda to combat malnutrition
and strive for the achievement of the UN MDG’s.”

on Youth, with varying degrees of progress. Maybe,
just maybe, the creation of the

the youth a voice during her association with the
IIMSAM in her endeavour to make the world a better
                              place.
Sandra states “For me being a Youth Delegate
of IIMSAM means that I can work towards giving others
an opportunity and a voice to take control over their
lives, and to make their own decisions.

To be in a situation where you do not know when your
next meal will be, I could never imagine, and if
I could do anything to change the situation to be
the betterment of the one person, I would do everything,
and for me, this is the way.
 | How to become a Youth Delegate

The United Nations General Assembly has recommended that Member States should include a youth representative in their delegations - and with the support of an organization like a national youth council, it's quite possible that a campaign will be successful.
The Road to becoming a Youth Representative: Steps you might take would include: Step 1. Write to the Head of our Mission, outline the merits of youth delegates, and offer to meet to discuss it further.   Step 2. You might also try to get letters of endorsement from all of the above, plus key civil society leaders, both national and international Step 3. After the proposal has been accepted, and a nomination and selection procedure established by our Mission`s Committee, the next step would be to apply for the position.

Priority areas Each of the Ten Priority Areas identified by the International Community is presented in terms of principal issues, specific objectives, and the actions proposed to be taken by various actors to achieve those objectives. Objectives and actions reflect the three themes of International Youth Year: Participation, Development, and Peace; they are interlinked and mutually reinforcing. The ten fields of action identified by the International Community are education, employment, hunger and poverty, health, environment, drug abuse, juvenile delinquency, leisure-time activities, girls and young women and the full and effective participation of youth in the life of society and in decision-making. The Programme of Action does not exclude the possibility of new priorities which may be identified in the future. Implementation of the Programme of Action requires the full enjoyment by young people of all human rights and fundamental freedoms, and also requires that Governments take effective action against violations of these rights and freedoms and promote non-discrimination, tolerance, respect for diversity, with full respect for various religious and ethical values, cultural backgrounds and philosophical convictions of their young people, equality of opportunity, solidarity, security and participation of all young women and men.
