IIMSAM Global Sports for Peace and Development Programme Initiative Goodwill Ambassadors
H.E. Mr. Diego Armando Maradona, (born October 30, 1960), IIMSAM’s Goodwill Ambassador for Global Sports for Peace and Development Programme Initiative is an eminent footballer from Argentina. He became Argentina's youngest ever international in 1977 and has played in four World Cups.
H.E. Maradona won many trophies with Boca Juniors, FC Barcelona and SSC Napoli over the course of his career. During an international career that included 91 caps and 34 goals, he played in four FIFA World Cup tournaments, leading the Argentinian national team to its victory over West Germany in 1986 World Cup, in which he collected the Golden Ball award as the tournament's best player. His second goal against England after the controversial one, 'Hand of God', in the quarter-finals of the tournament- a spectacular 60-meter weave through six England players- is commonly referred to as "The Goal of the Century" or El barrilete cósmico, "The Cosmic Kite."
A real champion in life and an inspiration to millions across the world, he is been hailed as the 'Footballer of the Century' when he received the FIFA People's Choice award for the Player of the century in 2000.

H.E. Ms. Monica Seles , Goodwill Ambassador and Spokesperson for the IIMSAM's Global Sports for Peace and Development Programme Initiative to counter malnutrition and for the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. Considered to be one of the best players of all time who won 9 Grand Slam titles, Ms. Seles was born in Yugoslavia and is a naturalized US citizen. She became the youngest-ever champion at the French Open in 1990. Ms. Seles was listed as the 13th greatest player of all time (men and women) by the Tennis magazine of the US and was also included in the list of 15 women named by the Australian Tennis magazine as the greatest champions of the last 30 years. Ms. Seles is also known as one of the greatest "big point" players of all-time, having tremendous mental fortitude during the toughest situations on the court.
As a pivotal component of the IIMSAM, Ms. Seles would advocate with the international community and other stakeholders to generate awareness and build support on behalf of the organization to realise a world free of hunger and malnutrition through its affirmative action programme Global Sports for Peace that would use the medium of sport in a development perspective.

H.E. Mauricio Macri IIMSAM’s Goodwill Ambassador for Global Sports for Peace and Development Programme Initiative is an Argentine politician who was born on the 8th of February 1959. He currently serves as a deputy representing the city of Buenos Aires in the Lower House of Congress, and, since 24 June 2007, is the Head of Government elect of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
Mr. Macri was born in Tandil, in the province of Buenos Aires, and studied at the Catholic University of Argentina (UCA), where he received a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He also attended Columbia Business School, Wharton Business School and Universidad del CEMA. His professional career in business includes management positions in various companies since 1985 such as Sideco, SOCMA and Sevel.
He gained recognition as president of one of the most popular football clubs in Argentina, Boca Juniors. He was elected in 1995 and re-elected in 1999 and 2003, to complete one of the most successful periods of the club, winning several international competitions.
Mr. Macri entered politics in 2003 as a member of the Compromiso para el Cambio (Commitment to Change) and in the year 2005, he as elected to the Chamber of Deputies representing the city of Buenos Aires. Along with the fellow politician and economist Mr. Ricardo López Murphy of Recrear, Mr. Macri forged a center electoral front called the Propuesta Republicana (known as PRO).
In 2007, Mr. Macri was elected as the Head of Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires with an overwhelming majority.
In 2006, Mauricio Macri was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador of the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina Against Malnutrition, IIMSAM, that works to promote the use of micro-algae Spirulina (Spirulina Platensis) to counter malnutrition and its severe negative impacts especially in the developing and Least Developed Countries (LDC).

H.E. Dr. Jose Rigoberto Perez-Diaz, IIMSAM’s Goodwill Ambassador and Facilitator for Global Sports for Peace and Development Programme Initiative, was born on the 10th of July 1956 in the Dominican Republic. He accomplished his Ph.D. in general medicine at the University of CETEC, San Pedro de Macoris, Democratic Republic in 1983 and specialized in Sport Medicine in 1984 (SEDEFIR). He has been residing in New York since 1988 where he became a certified Nutritionist and consequently began a radio program about health and nutrition dedicated to serve the community through telephonic 13 interactions called “Health for All”. The program has been transmitted for over eighteen years on the prominent radio station, Radio WADO 1280 AM, Univision Radio based in N.Y. Dr Perez is also a member of the Pan-American counsel of Endocrinology (COPAEN), a minister with the Anglican Church, a Master Mason 32 grade and a Sir Night of The Templar Order among others. With a keen interest in global humanitarian affairs, Dr. Perez also founded an non-profit institution to promote social assistance in needy countries. Dr. Perez is also credited with creation of a new sports discipline called “RIGOBALL”, a form of baseball that uses the arm instead of bat which is used in traditional baseball. Rigoball has an inherent social component to help those who are in need of assistance. As part of the IIMSAM Global Sports for Peace Programme, Dr. Perez will be promoting Rigoball internationally.

H.E. Mr. Eric Wynalda IIMSAM’s Goodwill Ambassador from the US is a three-time FIFA World Cup veteran and is USA 's all-time leading scorer with 33 goals. He was instrumental in the US win over world champion Brazil in the finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 1998. He is the recipient of the US Soccer's Chevrolet Athlete of the Year Award in 1996. He was named the Futbol de Primera Player of the Year after scoring five goals in seven games for the US . Always supportive of the humanitarian causes, Eric has lent his full support and cooperation for our mission in the capacity of a goodwill ambassador.

H.E. Mr. Peter K. Rono, IIMSAM’s Goodwill Ambassador from Kenya is a Gold Medalist of the 1500 meter event in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. His experience and leadership skills as an athlete, coach, team organizer, and entrepreneur have given him great insights in areas such as personal management, conflict resolution, team building, quick decision making and problem solving that have special relevance for developing countries. His aura and leadership skills continue to inspire and affect the lives of his colleagues and peers in a positive way. He put his skills to practice by planning and launching a fast food restaurant in Kapsabet , Kenya . H.E. Kono has experience as a track and field consultant at the Kamabo Training Camp in Kapssabet, Kenya and later became the assistant track and field coach at Mount St. Mary's College that went on to win the Men's and Women's Northeast Conference Championship in 1997 and 1998.
H.E. Rono was the head coach of the International Olympic Committee High-Altitude Training Camp for Distance Runners from 1999-2000 that produced eight Olympians from seven countries at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.His honors and achievements included being inducted into the College Sports Hall of Fame appointed by the International Olympic Committee to conduct clinics for elite junior athletes in Britain, Germany, and Israel. In 1995 he was conferred an honor by the Pope John Paul II at the Vatican where he gave a globally televised speech on behalf of Catholic athletes worldwide, and on winning the Gold Metal in the 1500 meters, 1988 Seoul Olympic games.

Hon’ble Mr. Noel Miller, IIMSAM`s Facilitator and Adviser for the Global Sports for Peace and Development Programme Initiative was born in Kingston, Jamaica and later migrated to London, UK. Mr. Miller attended the West Ham College of Technology where he studied Electrical Engineering and Business Management. He moved to Florida, US and established several businesses along with the Global Youth Development Foundation (GYFD) that is a charitable organisation committed to the holistic development of children throughout the Caribbean and of the world. The organisation intends to use sports as a medium to foster the development of youth. Mr. Miller is a certified Football/soccer coach, also actively involved in sports & entertainment as a promoter of international football/soccer matches, track & field, cricket, basketball, music and dance concerts.Mr. Miller through the GYFD will be facilitate the IIMSAM’s Global Sports for Peace and Development Programme Initiative that would establish sustainable Sports and Development Youth Centers worldwide where each child can actualise his true potential. These facilities, currently in the planning and development stages, serve to nurture, develop and mould sporting skills, as well as mentor and instill the attitudes of patience and discipline. It will also have a supplemental Spirulina Food Programme to combat malnutrition.

Hon’ble Mr. Roget V. Bryan, IIMSAM’s Facilitator for the Global Sports for Peace and Development Programme initiative is an accomplished attorney and business entrepreneur who brings his considerable experience with and knowledge of international sporting institutions to the organisation. Mr. Bryan's life long passion for football has driven his continued involvement in the sport as a player, scout, agent, and consultant. As an attorney-at-law, he has represented several professional football players in professional leagues throughout the world and provided legal representation and strategic consulting services to football clubs, leagues, federations, and various other sporting organizations. Mr. Bryan was raised in Trinidad & Tobago and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University in Massachusetts where he was a standout competitor in NCAA Men's Track & Field. He earned his Juris Doctorate (Law) degree and Master's degree in International Affairs from Florida State University in Tallahassee , Florida . Mr. Bryan is also the Co-founder and President of TiDi Sports Management, an international sports management agency based in Miami, Florida .

Mr. Yoiseif Baumgarten , Advisor and Facilitator for the Global Sports for Peace Initiative, was born in the United States and raised in Argentina. At the age of fifteen he traveled to Israel for one year, then returned to the U.S. to earn his college degree. He then became a Rabbi and spent an extensive amount of time living throughout Latin America in pursuit of humanitarian and spiritual affairs. While living in Costa Rica he developed summer programs for children. Once these programs were established he moved to Cuba and began working within the Jewish community as a spiritual leader and brought provisional care to the region. After many years abroad Yoisief returned to the U.S. and worked as a teacher for children with disabilities in California. From 1998 to 2003 he returned to Argentina and worked as a youth soccer advisor and established a bond with Argentina's leading sports figures. Yoisief currently resides in New York and works for a successful mortgage company. He joins the IIMSAM as a seasoned professional in humanitarian affairs.
