IIMSAM-IMAP moved immediately to help the victims of the earthquake which struck Haiti by adopting a fast-track "primary emergency Team of Medical Experts" for immediate relief activities which are working with partner hospitals and are doing an outstanding job in treating patients, providing medical equipment, medicines, water etc.

The U.S. Gems Foundation for IIMSAM, a 501(C) 3 nonprofit, was founded to support the work of the mandate of IIMSAM (Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina Against Malnutrition a (UN ECOSOC Observer) by raising funds for its programmes and increasing awareness of the challenges facing the world's malnourished children and adults. We are part of a global effort to save, protect and improve children's lives. (Tax Deductibility for U.S. Citizens Only.)

Mission

The Mission of The GEMS Foundation can be described in three points:

• Raising vital resources necessary to secure the Global Eradication of Malnutrition and Starvation on behalf of IIMSAM
• Advocating and raising awareness about the aspirations of the United Nations MDGs especially to ameliorate the plight of the malnourished
• Complementing the mandate of IIMSAM by financial planning, resource management and allocation, and other best practices

GEMS Description

The Global Eradication of Malnutrition and Starvation Foundation (GEMS Fund) is an organization started by Ambassador H.E. Mr. Remigio M. Maradona and Mr. Anthony Angiulli to raise resources necessary for and provide financial oversight and support to the implement the mandate of IIMSAM (Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina Against Malnutrition) the developing and the least developed countries. The GEMS Fund was formed by Mr. Angiulli, at the request of Ambassador Maradona in an effort to include best practices and provide transparency to manage and allocate the donated funds. Donors will be able to view published financial data on how their collective contributions will be applied to IIMSAM's approved projects.
