Over the past decade, the Millennium Development Goals, or MDGs, have been critical in mobilizing resources and driving real progress on some of the world’s most pressing problems. With the MDGs’ deadline of 2015 approaching, discussion over what should succeed the MDGs — known as the “Post-2015 Development Agenda”— is one of the most important and impactful dialogue of this century.
The UN has undertaken several consultative processes to inform and help shape the next development agenda. In addition, there are several intergovernmental processes underway that will influence the agenda.
As part of our long-standing support to the Secretary-General Ban ki-moon and the UN System, and because the MDGs have been such an effective “Modus Operandi” and inspirational tool for our Mandate in the fight against acute malnutrition, the IIMSAM is supporting these efforts.
